About Digital Art Museum Tokyo

An independent guide to the two teamLab museums that both answer to the phrase "digital art museum Tokyo" — teamLab Borderless at Azabudai Hills and teamLab Planets in Toyosu. We compare tour listings, official visitor information and recent traveller feedback. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours. The bookable options sit on the digital art museum ticket comparison, and every number here carries the month it was last read.

Why this site exists

Two museums, one search phrase, and almost every guide blurs them together. The official name of the Azabudai Hills venue is MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM: teamLab Borderless — so the phrase belongs to it. But the best-selling ticket listing on GetYourGuide is titled "teamLab Planets TOKYO Digital Art Museum", and that is a different building, 9 km away in Toyosu, where you take your shoes off and walk through knee-deep water.

People book the wrong one. They turn up at Kamiyacho station for a museum that is at Shin-Toyosu. They wear jeans to the venue where water reaches the knee. They plan a second lap and discover neither museum allows re-entry.

None of this is hidden — it is all in the museums' own notes. Putting it next to the price is the entire job of this site.

Where the facts come from

Ticket prices, durations, ratings, review counts, inclusions and age limits are read off each operator's own listing on the date shown on the page, in US dollars. Every tour page carries the same fields in the same order. Tour listing checked: August 2026.

Museum admission prices in yen, opening hours, dated closing days and the rules on water, footwear, photography and re-entry come from the museums' own official pages, cross-checked against the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's visitor information. Where the two disagree — and on the question of whether tickets are sold at the door, they currently do — the page says so instead of picking the tidier answer.

Traveller feedback reviewed: 13,000+ reviews across the listings compared here.

What we are not

This website is not a tour operator, a travel agency or a seller of travel, and it is not the official website of teamLab, of either museum, or of any booking platform. We hold no reservations, take no payments and cannot change or refund a ticket.

We are also not affiliated with teamLab in any way. Artwork names, exhibition titles and museum names appear here because they are the facts a visitor needs, not because anyone endorsed this page.

How the site earns

Links to booking platforms are affiliate links: if you book through one, the platform may pay a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change the price you pay and it does not decide the order tours appear in — ratings, review counts and what the ticket actually includes do. The full detail is on the affiliate disclosure page.

Corrections

Dynamic pricing moves, closing days are irregular, and teamLab rotates artworks. If a figure here has gone stale, tell us and it gets fixed with the date attached — contact the editorial team.
